The Hillside School is a grades kindergarten through 8th independent school for students who have language-based learning differences as well as auditory, visual, and sensory processing disorders that affect learning. These include dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia, working memory deficits, ADHD, executive functioning deficits, and nonverbal learning issues.
A Hillside education is specifically designed to meet the needs of students who struggle to find success in traditional settings. Their need is our mission.
We are the only school in a 40+ mile radius with our mission: to provide students with language-based learning differences a high-quality education to maximize their potential. They learn how they learn best; how to advocate for themselves; and how to manage their behavior through strategies that are unique to them.
The close collaboration among professional staff, teachers with expertise in instructing students with learning differences, involved parents, and motivated students make the Hillside School ideal for our students to thrive. Their self-confidence rebounds and they experience joy in learning again.
Spirit days, traditions, middle school clubs, and other fun activities provide a well-rounded environment where our students can build meaningful bonds. For many students, Hillside is a transformative experience.
