    Giving to Hillside

This year, Hillside’s 29th, is exciting! We welcomed our middle school students in grades seven and eight and we welcomed a new head of school, Mr. David Mendlewski. We also opened the new science lab allowing our middle schoolers a lot of hands-on learning.  All Hillside students are thriving. Many people help support the programs that make a Hillside education special and unique. All Hillside parents, alumni, grandparents and friends are invited to use the following opportunities to contribute to Hillside’s excellent work in enabling children with learning disabilities grow to their fullest potential. read more...

  • Endowment Funds

The growth of The Hillside School endowment is one of the school's highest priorities. With a larger endowment, The Hillside School has greater flexibility and ability to respond to economic cycles and has additional resources to attract and retain the best teachers. Endowment funds support scholarship, professional development, academic programming, facilities, and various other needs that fall within the mission of advancing The Hillside School. All endowed funds are awarded in perpetuity.      Growing endowment is also a practical matter. Because of the size of our student population and our low student-faculty ratio and because of the gap between the costs of this excellent, highly individualized education and families' ability to pay, net tuition revenues account for approximately 80 percent of the cost of a Hillside School education. In order to improve our quality initiative, our endowment income must continue to grow. Endowed funds may be established with a minimum gift of $20,000, given at once or over a period of time. The following are a list of The Hillside School endowed funds. Shanes Reeves Alleman Scholarship Endowment Brady-Nallo Scholarship Barbara Ryan Kenyon Scholarship Rosie Knapp Foundation C.J. Landis Endowed Scholarship Eileen Landis Memorial Scholarship Fund John A. O'Brien Memorial Scholarship Award Laura and Thomas J. Ryan Scholarship Bev and Ron Wasserman Teaching Staff Fund Borgenicht Fund for the Arts

  • “I have never seen my parents so proud of me than when I graduated with an engineering degree. My dad teases me that he couldn’t even pronounce the math and physics classes I was taking. I want you to know that without The Hillside School my life would be dramatically different right now. It is only now that I can look back and fully appreciate everything The Hillside School has done for me and other children. I cannot begin to thank you enough. And to think, when I was 8 and my parents showed me the school, all I could think about was how much cooler your playground was and not about how my life was about the change for the better.”
