Want an easy way to support The Hillside School through incentive programs?

General Mills Box Tops:  We all shop for groceries, sometimes two or three times a week –- or more. Now turn those shopping trip into easy cash for Hillside, and encourage friends to do the same! Just look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products like Cheerios®, Hamburger Helper® and Kleenex®, in almost every aisle of the store. All you need to do is clip and send them in to your child’s classroom —- each one is worth 10¢ for your school.  At the end of the year the class with the most box tops wins a pizza party!

Target Rewards:  A terrific way to raise funds for Hillside. It’s super-easy, and all you have to do is use your Target® Visa® or Target® Card. We will receive a percentage of the amount of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target through the Take Charge of Education® program. It’s easy. Just visit target.com/tcoe, or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school. So if you’re going to Target anyway, please consider using your Target® Visa® or Target® Card.

Big thanks to those who are already doing their part to make a great school even better. Grandparents, alumni, neighbors and friends can take part, too.

Amazon.com:  By clicking on our school website and purchasing items through amazon.com you are helping Hillside.  We receive up to 10 percent of every Amazon purchase (textbooks, gift cards, toys, etc.) as long as shoppers use our link to access Amazon, located on every page of our website.

Be sure to pass it on to your friends, family, neighbors, acquaintances, and anyone else who might like to help us raise funds by shopping at Amazon.

Matching Gifts:  Double or even triple your gift’s impact on The Hillside School! More than one thousand companies offer some level of corporate match for their employees’ philanthropic interests. Best of all, you are recognized for the full amount of your own gift plus any resulting corporate match. Most companies match dollar for dollar and some will even offer a 2:1 or 3:1 match. Matching gifts go to the program you designate unless your employer requires otherwise.

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. What is more, some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please see your human resources department.

EITC:  Pennsylvania businesses are eligible for a tax credit—not simply a deduction—by making donations to a scholarship organization like The Hillside School. The EITC program allows our business stake-holders to redirect tax dollars to support scholarships for students who could not otherwise afford a Hillside education.

EITC provides companies with a 75% tax credit up to $300,000 for donations to a nonprofit scholarship or educational improvement organization. The tax credit increases to 90% if the company commits to making the same donation(s) for two consecutive years. Tax credits may be applied against the tax liability of a business for the tax year in which the contribution was made.

Pennsylvania businesses that pay any of the following taxes are eligible to participate in the EITC program:

  • Personal Income Tax of S Corp shareholders or partners in a general or limited partnership Corporate Net Income Tax
  • Capital Stock and Franchise Tax
  • Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
  • Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
  • Insurance Premiums Tax
  • Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax

The EITC program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) on a first-come, first-served basis.
