Sept 8, 2022 – On Wednesday, August 31, over 100 golfers attended The Hillside School Golf Classic, an annual golf fundraiser that supports The Hillside School scholarship fund. The golf outing was once again hosted by Saucon Valley Country Club in Center Valley, PA. Participants enjoyed the famed Old Course, playing the same holes as those who competed in the 2022 U.S. Senior Open Championship.
At the luncheon that followed the round, participants heard from Head of School Jason Seggern. He shared his vision for future Hillside alumni and students. Additionally, he spoke of his desire to make Hillside a financially viable option to all children who need the instruction provided.
Winners of the golf fundraiser’s prizes and games were also announced at lunch. Joanne Jones won the Straightest Drive prize, sponsored by Viamedia and Warner Benefits Inc./HR Administrators. Mike Zambelli (hole #4) and Casey Scanlan (#11) won the Closest-to-the-Pin prizes, co-sponsored by Working Dog Press and Vinart Dealerships. Additionally, the team with the lowest gross score, or fewest overall strokes, was Scott Masenheimer, Ian Masenheimer, Kevin Kunkle, and Derek Kressler, while the team with the lowest net score, or total strokes minus their handicap, was Glenn Reibman, Clay Reibman, Tony Sarko, & Chris Ortman.
The Hillside School Director of Development, Holly Nonnemacher, also spoke, thanking all of the participants and all of the sponsors. Sacred Heart Asissted Living was a Premier Sponsor. Morgan Stanley – The Woolley Cwienkala Group, ShopRite/Colligas Family Markets, LP, Lehigh Gas Foundation, and Capital Blue sponsored the registration and breakfast. The Kelly Auto Group sponsored a new car prize for anyone who could make a hole-in-one. Prize Sponsors were Bartlett Tree & ATAS International, and Hole/Tee Sponsors included BEST Inc., Equinox, Jerdon Construction, Lehigh Valley Press, M & H Sale, Sue Ann & Glenn Reibman.
Later, Nonnemacher said, “This golfers and sponsors not only make this event possible each year, but make it amazing. We are very appreciative of their support.”
