Marketing Coordinator (Part-Time) — Open

The Marketing Coordinator actively engages with external media outlets and education and medical
professionals to promote and broaden recognition of The Hillside School. This person will be able to
suggest ways to increase brand awareness and communicate the school’s identity and unique
characteristics to key constituents, enhancing our messaging and branding, while continuing to
strengthen our external marketing efforts. This role will contribute to enrollment and retention efforts,
revenue growth, and help ensure Hillside’s position as the leader in education for students with learning
disabilities. This person reports directly to the Head of School and is a standing member of the
Leadership Team.



  • Participates in communication planning, assesses progress, and contributes to the successful implementation of yearly communication and development timelines
  • Effectively manages projects on-time and on-budget
  • Oversees updates to photos, copy, and events on the hillsideschool.org website as needed to ensure content remains relevant and up-to-date
  • Supports the production of Hillside print materials, including scheduling, organization, writing, copy editing, and design updates as needed
  • Designs, composes, and sends email communication using Hillside’s brand
  • Develops and oversees a cohesive public relations strategy and marketing campaign in support of the School’s strategic goals
  • Manages publicity efforts for events and provides guidance on media and public relations to the Head of School and Leadership Team
  • Serves as the School’s designated in-house photographer, manage freelance photographers and the School’s photographic archives
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned


  • Associates Degree and/or related experience
  • Experience in public relations/advertising or marketing
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to write concise copy that effectively communicates information to a wide range of audiences in various formats (print, Web, social, etc.)
  • Knowledge of small school/nonprofit marketing
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite
  • Knowledge of content management systems (experience with WordPress and HTML coding a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and creatively
