Educational Technology Specialist
show moreThis faculty position is full-time for 10 months and reports directly to the Head of School.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct students, teachers, staff, and parents
- Develop whole class instruction for students and teacher training in Assistive Technology (AT), Google Drive, Google Classroom, coding, videography, software, internet safety/cyberbullying, etc.
- Instruct students on how to use AT to support their individual diagnoses or learning challenges
- Educate families on their student’s needs and use of assistive technology
- Document assistive technologies and provide comments on students’ report cards
- Research and evaluate new developments in educational/assistive technology particularly for students with language-based learning disabilities
- Preview and test hardware, software and websites for possible use at The Hillside School, complete cost analysis for each and purchase
- Troubleshoot minor software and hardware issues (when Junction PC is not on site) and assist Junction PC when they have to remote into a computer
- Communicate with vendors
- Prepare documentation for grant proposals as requested/needed
- Create technology budget and maintain detailed records for annual audit
- Manage and administer online subscriptions for students, faculty and staff
- Provide assistance regarding device usage, software applications, and the general instructional use of technology in the classroom across all curriculum areas
- Perform related duties as assigned/required
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred in Educational Technology, Information Technology, or Computer Science
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology hardware, software, and related web-based or other tools
- Demonstrated success working with colleagues to identify instructional needs to enable/enhance student learning
- Classroom teaching experience preferred
- Fluency and proficiency with Google Apps for Education
- Strong organizational, technical, and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills

show moreThe Office Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the main office and the building. This position is a full-time salaried exempt position that reports directly to the Head of School.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Act as the Secretary to the Board of Trustees
- Schedule substitute teachers and update contact information
- Manage time off and clearances for employees
- Maintain office equipment, phone and surveillance camera systems
- Maintain student records
- Manage retention and destruction of student and confidential records
- Track and order office and building supplies
- Oversee building key system/keys and security systems (Altronics, Graham)
- Maintain Certificates of Liability Insurance
- Oversee and schedule routine facility repairs and annual building inspection including fire extinguishers
- Maintain vendor list
- Collaborate with the East Penn school nurse to
- Administer medication
- Order and maintain first aid supplies
- Organize health records
- Schedule CPR certification and EpiPen training
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School or Assistant Head of School
Shared Responsibilities with Office Administrative Assistant:
- Greet visitors, parents, and students
- Manage security (cameras, entry, doors, etc.)
- Manage phone calls and correspondence with all constituents
- Manage specific requests and complaints from all constituents
- Photocopy, fax, and scan documents
- Update the Veracross database as needed
- Schedule appointments for Administrators
- Troubleshoot emergent situations
- Administer general first aid to students
- Maintain care and organization of kitchen and health room
Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Excel
- Strong organization and communication (oral and written) skills
- Ability to supervise and delegate office responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with all constituents
- Show initiative in problem solving
