Everyone at Hillside is doing their best to stay up-to-date on information about COVID-19 and has been preparing in the event that it directly impacts our school community. Although we are working hard to disinfect and sanitize our high-touch areas, we realize that closing the school might become necessary based on recommendations from the PA Department of Health or PA Department of Education.
Our team is solidifying provisional plans in order to implement what we’re calling “Flexible School Days” which will substitute for missed instruction in the event the school needs to close. Student specific assignments and activities in all subject areas will be available for at-home use. Beginning today, some materials may be coming home with your child. Teachers will be completing necessary planning during our Professional Development Day tomorrow, Friday, March 13, 2020. Detailed instructions for the use of the materials will be available next week.
For everyone’s safety, if your child is sick, has a cough, or running a fever, defined as a temperature greater than or equal to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, please keep them out of school until they are fever free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medications.
