K-8 Art/STEAM Teacher- Specializing in Learning Differences

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive K-8 art curriculum that integrates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) concepts and aligns with state standards.
- Plan and deliver engaging art lessons that inspire creativity, cultural appreciation, and critical thinking.
- Teach students a variety of artistic techniques, mediums, and processes, fostering their individual artistic skills and self-expression.
- Integrate STEAM principles into art education, providing opportunities for interdisciplinary learning and problem-solving.
- Incorporate technology and digital tools effectively to enhance art instruction and expand students’ artistic horizons.
- Assess student artwork and provide constructive feedback to support their artistic growth and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in cross-curricular initiatives to promote STEAM integration and project-based learning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that values diversity, encourages experimentation, and nurtures artistic exploration.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and administrators regarding student progress, art activities, and school events.
- Stay updated on current trends, techniques, and educational research in art and STEAM education through professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification/license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience teaching art to K-8 students, with knowledge of STEAM integration preferred.
- Strong artistic skills and proficiency in various art techniques and mediums.
- Familiarity with STEAM principles and ability to incorporate them into art education.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diverse artistic expressions.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology and digital tools for art instruction.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in art and STEAM education.
