Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive physical education and health lessons aligned with state standards and best practices.
- Plan and conduct part-time physical education classes that promote active participation, skill development, and teamwork.
- Teach part-time health education, covering essential topics such as nutrition, personal hygiene, mental well-being, and the importance of physical activity.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians on their physical and health-related achievements.
- Foster a positive and safe learning environment, ensuring the well-being and physical safety of all students during classes and activities.
- Utilize various teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Incorporate technology effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement in physical education and health classes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development activities to continuously enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and administrators regarding student progress, class activities, and school events.
- Adhere to school policies and procedures, including the implementation of health and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification/license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain certification.
- Specialization or coursework in physical education and health instruction.
- Experience teaching physical education and health to middle school students is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physical fitness, health promotion, and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into physical education and health instruction.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in physical education and health education.
