Admissions

Welcome Prospective Parents

Discover an environment where your child can experience what it feels like to be a successful learner and an empowered self-advocate.

A Hillside education is an investment in lifelong success for your student.

Please contact us for more information about our program. We will be happy to answer your questions and provide additional information about our educational programs.

Admissions Process

Hillside has a very straightforward admissions process and we walk with you through every step.

Our admissions process has the following steps:

  1. Learn more about the students we serve and then inquire to discuss your student’s needs.
  2. See first-hand—through an admissions event or tour—how The Hillside School may be able to help your student.
  3. Create your Admissions Portal Account to upload required admissions documents and IEPs for our admissions team to review.
  4. The student is invited to spend the day at Hillside where they will follow the daily schedule and participate in activities planned for the day.
  5. After the student visit, the Admissions Committee will make a final decision regarding enrollment.

Tuition

The tuition for 2023-2024 school year is $20,125 for kindergarten through grade 3 and $27,170 for grades 4 through grade 8. The Hillside School has scholarships and funds for families who, through a confidential and independent review process, demonstrate financial need.

Affording and Financing a Hillside Education

Your investment in a Hillside education may feel overwhelming. Fortunately, we are able to identify and guide you through several options to help relieve some of the financial stress associated with tuition.

Adjusted Tuition: Hillside-funded tuition adjustments are awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need. Individual adjustments may not exceed 80% of tuition for the academic year. Thanks to the generosity of dedicated individuals and corporate donors who continually contribute, we are able to provide financial aid to over 40% of our students.

Tuition Payment Plans: Single, term, quarterly, and monthly payment plans are available. Hillside partners with Simple Tuition Solutions (STS) for payment plans up to 12 months beginning in July.

IRS Medical Deductions: Tuition and expenses incurred for educational therapeutic intervention through approved schools are deductible medical expenses.

529 Savings Plans: A maximum of $10,000 per year from an individual’s 529 Savings Plan can be spent on tuition and expenses for elementary or secondary private/independent schools (www.pa529.com). Check with your accountant or financial planner for details.

Flexible Spending Accounts: Some employers offer Flexible Spending Accounts that permit tuition reimbursement coverage under Medical Reimbursement Accounts. Check with your company’s benefits administrator.

Educational Loans: A variety of financial institutions offer education educational loans for students who attend independent K-12 schools.

Applying for Adjusted Tuition

The Hillside School has funds available for families who, through a confidential review process, demonstrate financial need. The Hillside School and families work with Simple Tuition Solutions (STS).

These funds exist thanks to the generosity of donors, foundations, and fundraising. They are awarded to those who qualify as long as funds are still available.
